Multiple Folders Named Administrator

Confused

I run XP Home edition. I have 3 user accounts set up. Myself as
administrator. My child as limited user. My husband as limited user. Guest is
disabled. When I look at the user folders within documents and settings,
there are 2 administrators folders shown. One named "Administrator". One
named "Administrator.THEHOOD" (THEHOOD is my computer's name). Logging on as
administrator in safemode, opens "Administrator.THEHOOD".

I think this occurred when i had changed the login to require the new user
to enter a login name (old windows type login screen) and started my machine
in safemode to correct a display problem...but i'm not positive about the
timing.
I can NOT log on as an administrator under the old windows type login screen
anymore. I had to change the login method to the welcome screen in order to
log in as "administrator" in safemode. The "old" type login gives an error
message when i type administrator as the user.

Can I simply delete the user folder "administrator" to rid myself of the
duplication? If I remember correctly, I had originally renamed the
administrator account to be my user account. The "administrator" account was
created the first time i used safemode and the "administrator.THEHOOD"
account was created the second time i used safemode (but the first time i
used safemode logging in the old windows way)

Confused? I am. I would just like to put it back. Thanks for your help one
and all.
