Hi Doug
I have searched through your site but cannot find a fix for this
problem. I take it there is a way around it, not that it seems to cause
any real problem as such. Is it a process that needs to be running that
controls the user name display. Thanks for any help you can give.

For this issue, click Start, Run and enter SERVICES.MSC Locate the Terminal Services entry in the right pane. Double click it and make sure its set to Started. The default startup state is Manual, but it won't hurt to set it to automatic.
