Thankss for the advice (and the others) and I shall certainly try the links
but I am not really a usenet head so the web interface suited me OK. You are
right of course I did not really appreciate that it was an ordinary newsgroup
and that I could get it via the newsreader in ie. But I camer at it from the
MS support link,as I am sure many people do. So I cannot be the only one in
the world who uses that route for that reason. My contention is that if MS
are going to steer people that way they should not be implementing a pop-up
blocker which blocks the site without telling people. Like many other aspects
of Windows (I have had multiple problems I have never had before especially
after XP2). I think MS are in danger of confusing themselves and the pubic at
large.

Meanwhilw I'll try the newsgroup route. Thanks again for telling me.
