This is very strange. I run XP sp2 and it usually runs very well and fast.

This weekend suddenly my audio went off, my dvd player program disappeared
even though my windows media player worked but no sound could be heard. my
Nero program was trashed. Some other small things went wrong.

I keep up to date with windows updates NAV Ad-aware and Spybot. I also run
several other anti virus and other types of programs to keep the program
clean.

I finally went to my audio volume controls and found that suddenly al the
different outputs were muted. My Nero had several parts suddenly missing and
do on.

I fixed the audio outputs and reinstalled Nero and everything now works.

The reason I'm writing this to advise you that some virus or Trojan got into
my machine and did this. I certainly have not fooled with this stuff that
went wrong.

The only virus I found which AVG removed was I-worm/mytob.gq.

So be careful out there.
