A Network Cable is Unplugged
A Network Cable is Unplugged

I have Two computers running XP pro, the main computer is SP2, the other is
not. I have created a home network using XP network wizzard on both computers
and followed all the steps. Both computers say that the network cable is
unplugged, yet i have tested the cable it works, I have tested both network
cards they both work. Why does it read as unplugged? How can i creat this
network?

If you are not using a hub or a switch to connect the two computers,
you need a special "crossover" cable, If (as it appears may be the
case) you simply connect them with a standard ethernet patch cable,
you will have output connected to output and input connected to input,
and will get the error indication that you report.
