My partner's company wants to install a website that would allow mwmbers of
the company from different branches to discuss ideas, ask questions & get
replies in threads. The threads should last 2 weeks minimum and the
paticipants should also be able to post pictures, hyperlinks and exchange
files, eg spreadsheets. There would be under 150 people using this. Does
anyone know what this kind of software is called and where it may be
obtained? TIA

I think a Wiki or a bbs would be useful for your tasks.

Also consider Microsoft "Sharepoint" for its integration with Office.
