Hi

I ma helping a friend with his small home network. He has a Win XP Home
desktop with SP2, and a Win XP PRo laptop. These are connected via crossover
cable, for his small network. He has broadband access via a USB broadband
Modem. The problem is that if somebody logs on with the Guest account, they
can access the appropriate resources, but they cannot access the internet.
When you double click on the connection icon, nothing happens, and when you
right click, the Connect option is greyed out. I suspect this a permissions
issue, but not sure of what to do. All the other limited users can access the
web, and resources on both machines OK. This is the case with the Win XP
machine turned on or off. (BTW the Win XP Home is the Host with ICS active).
Can anybody advise??

using the admin account, access the guest account authority level and temp
change it to either power user or admin, then using the guest acount set up
the access to the internet, then revert the authority level back to
restricted, voila your internet should work using guest account
