I have a problem with many of our xp pro machines. When browsing the network
in, "Microsoft Windows Network" I can only see the two domain controllers we
have. Something like below.
-Microsoft Windows Network
-domain
+PDC
+BDC
Win98 and Win2k doesn't seem to have this problem. Also, some XP machines
seems to list everything fine.
Work around... If I disable my nic and reenable it, then the problem goes
away. I am able to see all the PCs on the network. If I restart the PC then
it again does not show the entire network. Does anyone have any idea?
Thanks

This problem is typically caused by a browser conflict, or possibly by a
misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall.
Make sure you don't have a misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall.

Look for browser conflicts using browstat. Run "browstat status" from the
problem computer, both before and after the problem is experienced, and from 1
or 2 perfectly working computers. Compare the "browstat status" log from 3 or 4
test cases, and look for discrepancies, as outlined in this article:

I found the solution to my problem thanks to both Robert L, and Chuck. In
case anyone has the same problem, I'll post my solution here. My PDC and BDC
are clustered. I disabled netbios over tcp/ip on the NIC that's used for the
cluster. Below is a recommendation from microsoft regarding cluster servers.
