Disabling VPN Firewall When VPN Is Not Running

Thanks to some great support and advice elsewhere in this forum, I have just
managed to get my wireless network up and running. Unfortunately, it was at
the expense of having to uninstall my VPN software (Check Point VPN-1
SecureClient NG with Applicaiton Intelligence (R55)). I need to have both
working, so I have now reinstalled the VPN software, and sure enough, the
wireless networking has ceased working (with the workstation being unable to
ping the Server which the VPN software resides on).

Does anybody have any good ideas on how to disable the VPN Firewall when the
VPN is not running?

Regards,

Joff

Have you checked with CheckPoint to see if there are any known conflicts
between the VPN client and the native Windows firewall?
Not sure what problems this is causing you with your wireless - is the
wireless config service running, or are you using another app to manage your
wireless?

I have had a look on their web site for similar issues, but frankly, my level
of understanding was such that the content was not particularly helpful. To
give you some background into my problems, please search on "Problems Setting
Up a Small Wireless Home Network" within "Windows XP Networking and the Web".
As you will see, a solution was found, but it involved removing "Checkpoint
SecuRemote" from my Local Area Connection Properties on my server, which then
resulted in the VPN software not working.

I may be in the wrong forum here - if someone knows of a more relevant
forum, I would appreciate it if you could direct me. Of course, if you have
a solution, I would be very grateful.

Regards,

Joff

Sorry I can't be of more help - I haven't used the Checkpoint software for a
gazillion years - and I can't see/find your original thread. Might want to
repost to 'bump' this thread up, with updates.
