Every time I click on the network workgroup in Network Neighborhood, the
system hangs and explorer stop responding. The internet works fine and there
seems to be not other problems, what do I need to look for to solve this
issue?

One of the possible causes is excess protocols:

Run browstat on the problem computer, and on one or two other computers, and
compare results:
