Winxp professional cannot access win95 shared folder & printer

Dear all

Even I installed tcp/ip & netbuei in winxp workstation it cannot access a
win95 workstation in a ethernet network(lan not wan), WHY ???

in opposite, win95 workstation can access the winxp workstation without
problem
and even a win98 workstation can access the win95 workstation without problem

Appreciate for any advice!!!

JJ,

NetBEUI should not be necessary, and it's installation may just confuse your
problem.

Setup TCP/IP, and NetBIOS Over TCP/IP, on all 3 computers. Are your symptoms no
worse with NetBIOS Over TCP/IP only? If so, then we can diagnose the problem,
with a bit of work.

All of my instructions are written for Windows XP, but I think they're still
applicable to Windows 9x, except that you may need the Microsoft white paper to
translate file sharing issues:
