Hi Folks;
Have a HP laptop running XP. haven't had any problems until recently. Now, my
network bridge loses its settings whenever I shut down the computer. In
order to
go online when I restart, I have to do the following:
1. Go to Network connections, and right click on the network bridge icon,
and click on "disable".
2. Wait until the little screen comes up in the tray, saying "a network
cable is
unplugged".
3. Right click on the bridge icon again, and click on "enable".
4. Then click on "Repair".
This procedure fixes everything, and it stays that way until I shut down the
computer. I can go online and offline all I want with no problem. But if I
shut
down, or reboot the computer, the bridge loses its settings, and I have to
do the
above procedure again. Don't know what has happened recently to cause this.
How do I get this bridge to retain its settings?? Thanks in advance for any
help
offered.
