On my laptop I have a wireless connection and a wired connection.

The laptop OS is Win XP Home sp2.

I have fixed IP addresses for the wireless and wired connections which are
different.

Since the Laptop computer name is the same for the 2 IP addresses, the Computer
Browser for sharing files gets confused when I change my connection from
wireless to wired.

Is there a way to give each connection it's own Name?

I could do that in Win98SE by putting the name in the Host window when you set
it up for a fixed IP address but I don't know where that went for Win XP Home.

As a followup:

In the Local Area Connection->TCP/IP-->Properties->Advanced->DNS
I put the DNS suffix for this connection = wire
and I checked the "Use this connection's DNS suffix in DNS registration.

In the Wireless Network Connection->TCP/IP-->Properties->Advanced->DNS
I put the DNS suffix for this connection = nowire
and I checked the "Use this connection's DNS suffix in DNS registration.

This should give me two NetBios names for this computer of myLaptop.wire and
myLaptop.nowire. Each NetBios name is associated with a different IP address.
