Set up workgroup in XP Professional without any problems.
When searching for own PC in workgroup set up as HOME, PC fails to display
own PC in workgroup, but shows the workgroup icon.
If the network cable is plugged into PC, the PC icon within the HOME
workgroup is displayed.
Unplug the cable again the PC icon disappears from the workgroup!!!
Why is this ????

Jarvis,
This sounds like a browser situation. You can only have one master browser on
the LAN, and the other computer is the master browser. When you unplug the
cable, the master browser is not there to provide a list of computers, so the
icon disappears.
Run browstat from the problem computer, and from one of the other computers, and
compare the two.
