Can't ping local host

I have a network of home computers connected through a router to the
internet. Web access from my daughter's computer suddenly stopped.
Pinging the following is successful:
127.0.0.1, router, gateway, my machine
Pinging my daughters machine from mine is successful.
Pinging my daughter's machine (DHCP assigned) IP address from her machine is
NOT successful.
Any ideas short of resetting the TCP/IP stack?
Thanks
Richard

Richard,
This could be a firewall issue, or LSP / Winsock corruption.

Good call, Chuck. I reset Winsock first but it turned out to be the
firewall. After rebuilding all program rules in Norton Internet Security, the
web is accessible again. Still can't ping the local host, though ...
