Sharing files and a printer with ZoneAlarm installed

Hi All,
I have a PC and a laptop, both running Win XP (without SP1/SP2), with the PC
having zonealarm installed and a printer attached. I have a DSL line, which
I share through a router to which both computers are connected to. I have
set up a network with those two, but I am able to share files or print from
the laptop only after shutting down zonealarm. So my questions:
1-How to configure Windows or ZoneAlarm so that the sharing can work even
with ZoneAlarm running?
2-In that case do I really still need the firewall?
Your help would be much appreciated.

Undertaker,
If you have a NAT router, you're probably protected adequately from malicious
incoming traffic. But a personal firewall like Zone Alarm is still a good idea,
in a layered defense strategy. There's a lot more to worry about than just
network layer attacks these days.

On each PC (the laptop is also a PC) add the other PC's IPA to ZA's trusted
zone.
