Release/Renew on network connection

In the old Windows 98 days, there was a program called "winipcfg.exe"
which would (among other things) allow you to RELEASE and RENEW DHCP leases.

This program doesn't seem to exist in Windows XP.

Prior to updating to SP2, it seems you could do the same with the
"REPAIR" function on the wireless network status window.

With SP2, however, that REPAIR function seems to want to disable and
reenable the adaptor, which doesn't work on my computer because my
wireless adaptor is built-in and not Plug and Play.

So.... how can I release and renew my DHCP lease now using XP SP2?

THanks.

Stephna,

Try "ipconfig /release", then "ipconfig /renew".

Natively like Chuck said....
There is also a GUI utility (similar to the 98 one) downloadable from
Microsoft. (It's says for Win 2K but works fine in XP also.)
