I have xp home on my desktop and xp pro on my laptop and I can't get them to
network for printer and file sharing. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Make sure that both your computer are in the same Workgroup. Also verify that
both your computers are in the same IP adress range. Then go into your run
from one computer and write: \\name of computer you want to acess.

It should pop a login box which will allow you to log into the other
computer to see the shared printers and folders of the computer.

Also check
- the SP2 firewall allows file and printer sharing
- that you have file and printer sharing (right click on my network places
and click on properties , right click on local area connection and click on
properties. On this new window it should show if file and printer sharing
is installed "file and printer sharing for micorosoft networks")

- share a folder in one computer and try to see it on the other.

- it doesn't hurt to have an account with the same name and password in both
computers.
