When I download a Applications from the Internet, the little icon picture
that comes with program is there and remain there until I turn off the
computer. When I turn on the computer next time the little icon picture for
the program is missing and the window default application icon appear
although you can still run the program with out any problems. But if I zip
then up program, the icon picture will still be there when I open then next
time. These problems do not happen went the programs are from a CD.
I think the problem is something to do with the window explorer.
Running window xp home Edition with service pack 2 installed.
Any information on this problem will help
Thank you

Once the IE cache is cleared the 'Favicon' will be gone. You can download
a little app, called Favorg,
http://www.grafxfreeware.homestead.com/favorg.html . This will maintain
the favicon for your favorites list, etc., plus it allows you to 'assign'
icons as you wish.
Heirloom, old and need to get mine
back

Well, I just looked.........this used to be a free app...........PCMag seems
to have taken it over and there is now a charge for it. I have a copy on my
Me machine, but, not on here. A Google search may render a dl'd location
for an older version before it became $$$$.
Heirloom, old and still have the old one
