Actually, it works now. Sorry.

But: Is there any way to keep the MPEG2 quality, or at least maximize it?
I'm using FlaskMPEG and as far as I know, have the highest settting. It's
just that it kind of ruins all the hard work when the quality sucks.

Hi,

I added the link to FlaskMPG just a few days ago, based on a couple positive
inputs from people using it...

The documentation with the app includes "... Currently, the AVI output of
FlasKMPEG has still bugs but it's working OK with many codecs...."

My test conversion with it went well, using the Panasonic DV codec to
compress the AVI.

I'm not a regular user of the app and don't know what the error message
means.

It might be in the compression codec you're using... try the Panasonic DV
codec... it's full DV quality.

God damnit. I got the codec in finally, and now FlaskMPEG is not doing shit.
I clicked start conversion and the progress window opened for like 1 second,
then dissapeard. I created a file of 0 kbs. It creates the file ,but
doesn't actually do ANYTHING. I don't know why the computer hates me.

I don't know if you're referring to the Panasonic DV codec... one thing
about it is that it renders a file to 720x480 and works great if the input
file aligns that size.... if the input file isn't that, then it does what
you are seeing... check the pixel dimensions of the source file.

I convert the shitty ass files. Then in WMM, they are all of a sudden GONE,
then in 1 more minute they are there. Then the end gets cut off the video.

Ok, I'm sorry. But you have to realize, there's only so much of this windows
stuff a person can take. I've been dealing with excessive freezing, extreme
slowness, and poor results for weeks now. We just got a brand new camera,
and it's supposed to be really fantastic and everything. But that doesn't
really matter, because no matter how you try to make it work with WMM, it
always turns out looking bad. I probably have an ulcer from all the
frusteration that WMM and it's deficiencies have put me through. The only
reason I don't just leave it is because I don't want to spend another $100 on
an acceptable video editor.

I wasn't yelling at Papa John. I was just trying to vent my extreme anger
towards WMM. I really do appreciate his help and how far it's gotten me thus
far.

Can't you just delete the post to get it off of Google?
