i'm trying to crete a new fax cover sheet...i am using the basic format from
office...but i need to insert horizontal lines for everyone to write on...i
can't seem to get the lines even....how can i insert series of 7 horizontal
lines, spaced properly, under "comments"?

If you doing this in Word, try using a table with the required number of
lines (rows, no columns) + one and in the format table dialogue
box\borders use the "inside horizontal border" option.

Another way,
Draw your line with the line tool in draw and copy it. Paste it back as
many times as you need (hold shift and click on them) ,then on the Draw
menu go to "align and distribute" and pick "align left". If the spacing
isn't correct you can adjust it roughly freehand, select them all again
and then go back to "align and distribute" and then take the" distribute
vertically" option.
Personally, I would use the table method as this is an excellent way of
creating layouts as found in a form or fax sheet. Just hit return (never
insert a table at the top of your page) and fill the page with cells.
These can then be merged and lined to give you boxes/lines you need.

Use the 'underscore' key to create the lines (next to the + = key)..
