Patches?

How can you tell what patches are installed on a computer? I remember seeing
the Q####### at one point in add / remove programs but now no hot fixes are
listed there.
Thanks.

In Add/Remove Programs, make sure the box "Show updates," at the
top of the window, is checked.

Windows XP Patch: Qfecheck.exe Verifies the Installation of Windows XP
Hotfixes
......the above executable from MS will "read" the applied fixes from the Reg
and also tell you if the fix "stuck" or if you need to reapply it. It also
shows if any related files need to be replaced. Normally used by
administrators, however, should work for what you want.
Heirloom, old and hope that helps

Thanks, Joan..........but, I boogered one earlier........put out a little
'inappropriate' info......hate it when that happens. Have you used the
Qfecheck app?? I believe the old Belarc Advisor did much the same except
for info on the related files.

Belarc looks like it uses Qfecheck.exe. I use both.
Qfecheck.exe Verifies the Installation of Windows 2000 and Windows XP
Hotfixes
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;282784
I also use SPCheck.exe.
ServicePack Level diagnostic tool (SPCheck.exe).
SPCheck.exe is on the XP CD in the \SUPPORT\TOOLS folder in the SUPTOOLS.MSI
package.
You can also download SPCheck.exe
http://download.microsoft.com/download/6/e/0/6e0b8c10-a71b-44f1-99d5-27f6fc535f5c/xpspchk.exe
How to Use the SPCheck Tool in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q312646
SPVerify identifies the files that are added or replaced when you install
the service pack or hotfix on the computer.
Overview of the SPVerify Tool

No I haven't used the app you mention, I have never had any problems with
updates, mine are all installed as should be. I run Belarc occassionally
and no problems with any showing there and also have MBSA which I run now
and then. My update history at WU is showing OK also.
See you soon, I did notice you in general as well <g>

Hey Mow!!!
Yup, built a super fast, double throw down XP box........still learning
the intricacies, but, it is quite user friendly, IMHO.
Heirloom, old and the 19" LCD is
nice, too.
