It must be some application that's conflicting with Word 97, because I
had no problems installing Office 97 Pro with the html functions on this
Windows XP Home system.

SP2 is blocking the html components.

I had problems installing VS.Net after installing SP2 - I try to tell myself
that it is useful so I have it but it does create problems.
