Log off
Is there some way to make "log off" a right click option? I am
totally annoyed when the "log off" icon is covered by some message
about a new program which won't go away when I hover the cursor over
it. I just want to log off and not deal with the program.
TIA

Hi SF,
How to remove Balloon Tips:
This can be done using Tweakui. Install Tweakui and go to
Task and Start menu, then uncheck Enable balloon tips.
Or here's a script to Disable Balloon Tips

Many thanks! I'll get back to you later with the results... haven't
used TweakUI in years, but very glad it has kept up with the times.
LOL
highlighting new programs is a service that you can shut off, disabling
balloontips won't do it.
Right click the start menu>properties>customize>clear the check next to '
highlight newly installed programs'

Hi SF,
Here are the links for pre and post Service Pack installs.
Microsoft PowerToys - Tweakui for WinXP: Ver. 2.10 requires WinXP SP1
and later
http://www.microsoft.com/WINDOWSXP/home/downloads/powertoys.asp
With NO Service Packs installed, the earlier version can be found
here:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe
TweakUI can be accessed from Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP
