Hey MM people!
I need help ASAP with a movie that I'm trying to get done for early next
week. I've installed SP2 so I'm running MM2.1. OKay, so I've created a movie
and save it to a CD (DV-AVI). When I play it back from the CD, it
skips/stutters (both video and audio)! But, when I copy the file back to my
hard drive and play it from there, everything is fine? HUH?!? I thought it
might have something to do with my mucking around with the acceleration speed
(as a workaround to another MM2.1 problem) but I've tried setting it back to
full and re-burning the file and get the same problem. I'm using a Sony Vaio
and using Click-To-DVD as my burning tool (if that makes a difference?). It
doesn' tmatter what the file size is as I've tried some small test movies and
larger ones. Does anyone have any ideas?

DV-AVI files have too high a bitrate to play back smoothly on a CD....
For a disc you need to use VCD, SVCD or DVD software.

Also, I have a Vaio but don't use the 'click to dvd' to burn dvds. When I
record a tv show or something the file saves in Mpeg format (I think Mpeg2)
and that is the file type that 'click to dvd' works with. MM2 does not work
well, if at all, with Mpeg...
However, if you want to use 'click to dvd' cuz its your only dvd burning
software, then you should convert the DV-AVI formatted movie you make into
mpeg format for the software to burn. Otherwise, I'd suggest Movie Factory
for authoring and burning, and AVS converter for a good video format
converter/ripper/jack of all trades...
Good luck.
