I have been trying to find a sound driver to work on my old Compaq 5240.

I upgraded to XP and have not been able to get the sound to work. I am
running an ESS 1869 sound card and have tried a variety of drivers, even
tried the drivers on the ESS site, but they don't seem to have an XP driver.

My MultiMedia Video controller shows up with a yellow "?" in the device
manager and mu audio device has a yellow "!" next to it.

Any ideas would be welcomed... ( I know, throw the machine out...)

If you can find Win2K drivers, they *might* work with WinXP.
