PC refreshing

Hi,
My PC has started doing what appears to be a 'refresh' of the systems. This
results in a flickering of the desktop icons or refreshing of explorer. If it
happens while I'm using word or excel, the keyboard goes funny with the
buttons opeing up the find function no matter what key I press. During this,
task manager shows the lsass.exe, taskmgr.exe & system idle processes as
being very active with the CPPU column scrolling from 0 to 99 in a matter of
seconds and then restarting. The CPU usage graph also spikes at 100.
I have run spybot & mcafee virusscan but nothing has appeared.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Greetings Flea,

Looks like it's case of spyware, adware, malware or even virus/trojan
related. First of all try scanning your computer from any spyware related
programs. Try the following programs:

1. SpyBot Search and Destroy - http://security.kolla.de/ (Recommended)
2. Adware - http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
3. Microsoft Anti-Spyware Beta 1 (Use at your own risk) -
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

If still doesn't go well, try scanning your computer from viruses or
trojans. Trend Micro Systems offers a free online scan which scans for the
latest trojans and viruses on the internet. URL -
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

If you already have an anti-virus scanner installed, try updating your
latest definitions and patterns and scan your computer.

lsass.exe can be associated with the Sasser worm. There are tools available
from Microsoft (I think) and many other vendors to deal with this infection.

Check out Goole with "lsass.exe" if need be
