You might want to find a Nero newsgroup?

Yeah thanks for that, I did try that also, just trying to cover as much area
as possible. I'll clarify...
I'm not sure where the flickering is coming from? The dv-avi file I save
after editing is fine, somewhere from there to the DVD I get flickering when
I play the finished product on my DVD player on the TV?
I'm hoping someone else may have had similar experience or know of it at
least and be able to help me out.
Cheers

Is it flickers on the dvd;
When you play it on the pc?
If so then it could be the encoding parameters you've set.
On a stand alone dvd player?
If so it could be incompatibility problems with many things frpom type of
disc (+/-) make of disc, parameters used etc etc...

Thanks Graham,
It is fine on the PC and only flickers on the stand alone DVD player. I'll
try a few
different types of media but what parameters can I change to alleviate the
problem if the media change does not fix the problem?

Set maximum bitrate to something like 7,500kbs, most stand alone dvd players
will not play anything over 8,000. Try using cbr instead of vbr, or the
other way round. Use pcm or ac-3 audio, not mpeg.

Thanks again Graham

Here's a suggestion that may work.
Instead of using one program to convert to MPEG2 and then another program to
create a menu and then a 3rd program to burn to DVD why don't you just take
the DV-AVI file you created in WMM and import THAT into Nero Vision Express
and save a whole lot of extra steps and rendering. Encoding and reencoding a
file over and over like you are presumably doing does degrade the AV.
If you purchased Nero and aren't just using the free trial download then you
should already have NVE and NVE will do everything you are using two other
separate programs to do all within itself.

Thanks wojo,
That sounds a lot easier. I'll try it. I have Nero 6 Ultra Edition, is that
the one? Does it have nero vision? I'll look anyway but if not where can I
get it?
Thanks again

I don't have Nero 6 Ultra Edition but I
checked the website and there are
several updates available:
Nero 6 Ultra Edition Major Update –

If you have the full version and not the demo download then yes you should
have Nero Vision Express 2.
If you have the newest version (6.6) of Nero then you should have NVE 3.
