Hi
I recently had a disaster in my PC. I performed a virus scan which needed to
reboot the PC.After that there was a file named desktop( a config settings
file) all over tha machine.so i deleted all of them and the next day my PC
wont start at all...it remained in an infinite loop restarting itself over
and over.then the repairman came & installed WIN2000,started the machine &
then loaded WIN XP over WIN 2000.
Now the problem is
1. I have got a new administrator account with the old one still existing
should i delete the old one?
2 The C:\ Windows folder is of no use as I have got a new folder
C:\WINNT.should I transfer the old files into this one coz most of the files
are present in the new folder?

4 Also, in the folder properties, I have got a new tab Security which I
guess is from WIN 2000.Can I remove this? is it required in winXp?

6 In Add/Remove prgrams a new thing has appeared "Set Program Access and
Defaults". Is it required in WIN XP?
7 When I try to change my User Account name to Administrator, it says the
name already exists.
8 I also use TweakUI , its a great thing for XP! In the Logon section
there are two logon names-Administrator (old name) and Username (new name)
I checked the the former & disabled the latter.then after Logoff, there
were both the names on the Welcome screen!!
I clicked on the (old) Administrator and I WAS able to log on! Next I
saw two "computer administrators" in the Control Panel>
User Accounts. But this problem disappeared when I restarted my
computer. Does it mean that the old Administrator is still active??
8 the folders C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp
Internet Files, \History, \Cookies are "Not Accessible" and
"Cant be deleted. Make sure the disk is not full or write protected." I
know I have the same folders in my New admininstrator account
but I want to free up the space.

Can anyone help me please?
