Laptop in a constant loop..

Hello, as the title says , my laptop isn't working properly and I need
some guidence on how to go about repairing it. Let me shed some
history, its a Dell Inspirion 5100 which I bought off a trust worthy
friend who never used it. I can't call dell since my friend bought it
and then sold it to me hence why I havn't asked there service and
support team. It never gave me problems until a month ago when it was
fritzing out. Came to find out it was malware and with the help of this
forum, I was getting back under control. About a week ago I was logging
off for the day and I was going to shut down by slicking start and so
on. It has a tendency to freeze while shutting down so I usually just
do it manually by holding down the power button. This time however when
it turned off and I turned it back on it shows the Dell logo as normal,
but as soon as it does, it shuts off and restarts showing it over and
over in a contant loop. I don't have a clue how to stop it. I tried
safe mode, I tryed running the battery out, I tryed taking out the
battery (Things that wont cause me to open it up) and still nothing
stops it. I ran a Dianostic with the Installation CD and got a few
Errors but I think only Dell people know what they mean. Has anyone
ever had this problem and can I fix it with out going to a repair shop?
Thanx for listening to my rant.
