cpu usage@100%

task manager shows 19 processes at start up with nothing open. this isn't
normal is it?

Hi,

Yes, a certain amount of processes are necessary for the Windows to
function.
Some (good and bad) processes can be identified using the following
site.

I should have added, System Idle process should be between 95 to 99%.
