Hi

I messed up and reinstalled windows XP over my previous installation. I
assumed that the data and 3rd party installed programs would transfer. What
happened is that the new installation created a NEW account name.
Consequently I now have two accounts fortunately with different names.

However, the computer only sees the new account and I cannot directly access
some of the original programs and data.

My question is, how do I merge the old data and settings into the new
account? I assume that I can not just copy the data over to the new account
folders. There must be a way to migrate the data and settings.

Create a new user account, copy the info from the old account
to the new account, then delete the old account.

You could also manually copy data from c:\Document and
Settings\<username> to the new user?
