I have a Sony HC30 which is DV. When I try to capture video into MovieMaker
2.1 it captures the video perfectly but no audio is captured at all. Could it
be the patch cord that Sony provided (it's USB 2).

Movie Maker works using a firewire connection, not a USB one...
The firewire cable isn't provided with the camcorder...
