..I have an Hp a819n pc with winxp sp2 home, can i install winxp prof. over it
with out any problems

I don't know..
*YOU* are the only problem I see with the scenario - and that is an
assumption I make just because I don't know you.
Technically - if you have a Windows XP Professional w/SP2 CD - you should
have no problems making the upgrade.
I'd still take the precaution of backing up my data(email, documents,
pictures, contacts, etc..)

Unless you need to join a domain, or need to have more than 5 concurrent
connections, or REALLY need the extra networking and security functions that
Pro has, why bother?
