Live capture w/camcorder controlling rec/pause?
I'm looking for a way to 'live capture' to my hard drive using the digital
camcorders controls. I'd like to connect via firewire from my camcorder to
my laptop and record directly to my disk only whne I press play on the
camcorder... and not record when I hit pause on the camcorder. Possibly a
3rd party product or plug in? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

It is not a standard feature and is entrely dependent on the feature set
of your camcorder. Some allow such a feature while other dont.

Thanks for the response. So you belive there is a protocol for camcorders to
communicate 'player commands' with video capture software such as MovieMaker?
MovieMaker supports it, but I have to find a camcorder that also supports
it? Any idea what this feature may be referred to as? Thanks again.

I'm looking to purchase a new camcorder, so if I could find 1 that could
control disk capture it would be ideal.
