Cannot Capture Video

I am using a JVC-GR32 and a fire wire attached to a HP Pavillion 500 with
Windows XP using WMM 2.1. I can control the camera from WMM (play, stop,
rewind). The preview screen is black. I have checked the box to have it
show preview during capture.
I receive two messages after it fails to capture. "The specific video
device is not responding" "The selected file is not valid or is corrupted"

Microsoft Movie Maker: Error - Class Not Registered
SP 2 and Movie Maker automatic update.

After updating successfully... and DeFraging the Hard Drive - no more
download with the firewire
The Movie maker connected to the Firewire on my Sony digital cam no longer
downloads.
Error- Windows Movie Maker - Class Not Registered

There is no way to un-install Movie Maker and re-install Movie Maker again.

Movie Maker only allows for "automatic updates".
My XP Home Edition has all the latest updates for DirectX, Media Player,
Movie Maker, Movie Maker Plus, and so on.

Start - Run - (add this script to run)
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\qdv.dll

I spent hours, re-installed everything...
nothing worked.
The above script fixed it!
