Hi

Some of my clips show black square and rectangle shapes (like dead or
missing pixels) when i view them as i'm editing on the storyboard, will
these show on the final edited movie or is it just a preview thing?

It isn't likely they will show up in the finished movie.
As you surmised previewing doesn't display in the final resolution as it
would take too long.
I have seen the black boxes from time to time and have never had one in a
final rendering plus when I close and reopen the project they generally do
not reappear even in the preview.

I have seen them too and we have a pretty fast system here..... really
freaked me out the first time I saw it... thought the system was going to
crash... but it did not... they appear not to ever show up in the finished
product.
