XP Pro Won't Boot

Hello,

I had this problem after installing SP2, but that may not be the
culprit.

As mentioned, I installed SP2, then upon booting, the system would go
briefly to a blue screen and then reboot itself.

I did the following:
<--
At the command prompt in Recovery Console, type the following lines.
Press ENTER after each line.

cd $NtServicePackUninstall$\Spuninst
batch spuninst.txt
exit
-->

That seemed to work. The next part did not however. Here is what I
was suppose to do:
<--
Remove the Windows XP CD from your computer's CD drive or DVD drive,
and then restart your computer.

Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.

At the command prompt, type the following lines. Press ENTER after each
line.

cd %Windir%\$NtServicePackUninstall$\Spuninst
spuninst.exe
-->

Well it won't boot into XP so that won't work. I tried running
spuninst.exe from the command prompt in the Recovery

Console, but I got an error message that the command was not
recognized..... Couldn't be so lucky :confused:

I obviously do not want to re-install XP because of all the settings,
etc. that I would have to reconfigure, so if someone

knows how I can at least boot into safe mode, I would be overjoyed :)
:)

Thanks in advance !!
