TMPGEnc mpeg question, HELP!

Hello

I tried doing a search for this subject but didn't easily find one. Can
someone tell me, how do I use TMPGEnc to convert an avi file into a single
mpeg file so that video and audio isn't converted seperately? Because right
now TMPGEnc is converting the avi file but into a seperate video and audio
file. I've heard that one can bypass this so that the avi file can convert
into a convenient mpeg file that plays both audio and video at the same time
in sync.

Thanks for any assistance.

It's in your settings... and where to do it might depend on the version
you're using....

With version 2.5+, it's the 'Stream type' selection at the lower right of
the main window.

The stream type selection box is set at ES Video+Audio, but it's grey
(doesn't allow me to change it). How do it enable it so that I can change it?

To enable my choices, I had to choose the Load button under the 5 choices >
Template folder > Extra > unlock.mcf > Open

Then all the choices were available... obvious right?? :)

OK I did that, and it did unlock the choices, and I chose system
(video+audio), but now it says this: "Linear PCM stream cannot be outputted
as system stream. Select either ES(Audio Only) or ES (Audio+Video) at Stream
Type on main window to output."

The problem is, if I select ES (Audio+Video), it seperates the Audio track
from the Video track. I just want one file....?

TMPGenc doesnt seem to allow muxing the PCM audio with the video stream
during encoding.

In the first screen of the wizard choose the "MPEG1 Layer II (MP2)"
audio instead of "Linear PCM (wav)". Complete the wizard and in the very
last screen unselect "Output video and audio in individual elementry
streams" if it is selected.
