Machine does not display in "My Network Places"

Perhaps this message should be directed in another category but I'll start
here ;) :

My business has a domain named "TWIN" running a Windows 2000 server. There
are roughly 18 client PCs with half being XP Pro, quarter Win 2000 Pro and
the other quarter a mix of 98/NT.

Anyway my problem is this: Two of the XP Pro machines (both Dells although
different product lines) one running SP1, the other SP2 are on our network
but don't show up on any of the "network neighborhood" or "my network places"
(-> entire network -> microsoft windows network -> Twin) list. They simply
don't display. However if on a remote machine I issue a "net use" command
from a CMD prompt, I can create a map to those machines/drives. Similary,
if from a remote machine I open up an explorer session, and in the addres bar
type "\\machine_name" that machine populates the list.

I have tried checking for the latest/alternative drivers for each of the
network cards. I have tried tweaking the settings for the card to no avail.

Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!
