Error message-apptl.exe bad image

dll, iepq, mfchd,mfcpw32,winxlI am bombarded with these messages...The
application or dll is not a valid windows image. Please check against
installation diskette. $ or 5 different dll's ie all in window\system32 then
crmc.iepq,mfchd,winxl,mfcpw32. These messages pop up every 3 or 4 minutes.
They don't affect the system operations but they are extremely annoying.

I ran sfc /scannow twice and it doesn't seem to do anything. Does anyone
know what is happening...as usual the actual error message is useless and
actually very irritating. They must have idiots writing these.....

Hi,

Sounds more like an infestation of viruses. Download some of these tools,
then restart in Safe mode and run them:

Rick,
Thanks for responding. I downloaded the "stinger" and "Vcleaner" and ran in
safe mode. But I still have the problem. It is always the "bad image" error
message but the exe. it refers to has changed to atldg32. I also have Norton
antivirus which I run often and I also use ZoneAlarm. I keep getting these 2
messages every 3 or 4 minutes and I have to close them or I can't type
anything. Can you suggest anything else?

I tried adware, spybot, vcleaner, stinger, Norton antivirus in SAFE mode an hour
ago and not one of them indicated they found any problems. yet I still keep
getting 2 of
atldq32.exe bad Image messages every few minutes. I tried to send you this
message about an hour ago but this system would not allow the message to be
sent. Hopefully this one will work.
If I take it to a computer service company what will they try that I haven't
tried?

Hi,

Click start/run, type regedit and click ok. Expand the plus (+) signs to
reach these keys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Click on the key, then look in the right pane for a string that loads the
errant file. Click on the string, click file/export and save a copy to the
desktop (you can call it whatever you like, the name is unimportant). Then
delete that string from the right pane. Close the registry editor and
restart the system. See if the error goes away. If there are no further
problems, you can delete the saved copy. If removing the string causes other
issues, then you can reimport the saved copy by doubleclicking it.
