After a HELL of a lot of poncing around with the lil bugger I got it working,
the only way to get it going is to smack the drivers onto floppy, Format,
reinstall XP or and use them when asked in the setup, so get thoses files
backed up onto DVD-/+ R/RW/RAM, CD-R/RW USB Drives, etc etc and reinstall,
gives you a chance to clean all the crap off your PC anyway :P

Man, you could have saved yourself a whole load of trouble.

Just checked out a post by Phil Chatfield (search for "BOOT DISK FAILURE")
to find it.

All you need to do is clear the CMOS on your motherboard and it all works.

PS it also fixed a problem whereby my power button was not shutting down the
PC
