I had the same problem (w/Windows Media v9) and turning my graphics
excelleration down (it was set to maximum) fixed the problem. I am now
experimenting to see how high I can keep the setting without gettting the
color distortion.

Heidi- I am using Win Media Player 2.1. I reinstalled Windows Media Payer 10
and it solved the problem for me.
