Intellimouse Explorer 4.0 Not Detected At Startup

Hi,

Im using a Microsoft intellimouse explorer 4.0 (USB) with intellipoint 5.2
software under WindowsXP and am experiencing problems.

The problem that Im having is that every third of fourth reboot windows
doesn't detect the mouse and I have to unplug it and re plug it for it to
work.

I previously had an intellimouse explorer 3.0 which Ive uninstalled from the
device manager, and Ive also uninstalled intellipoint 4.12 software. This
intellimouse worked flawlessly.

Ive uninstalled and reinstalled intellipoint 5.2 but am still getting the
same problems with the intellimouse explorer 4.0.

Does anyone have any suggestions.

I think the issue is with the USB.

it seems to be working ok now plugged into the ps2 port
