Reloaded Win XP, but.....

I have a friend who had a corrupted windows file but couldn't resolve
the issue and ended up reloading Win XP. After doing so, he discovered
that none of his programs will execute now. When looking under "start",
"programs", it no longer displays the programs. But, the program
folders all still exist, as do the .exe, but none will run.

Any suggestions or insight?

Thanks in advance.
Glen

If he was shooting for a repair install, he missed and ended up with a new
install. If he doesn't have two Windows folders, he chose to install to the
existing folder. This new install has a brand new registry. All info about
programs that were installed in the 'other' Windows is gone. He'll need to
reinstall his programs.
