Icon Misplaced

I placed the Icon for windows explorer on the desk top. I think I
errered in that now it is very difficult to get to once I am in an
application/program. How do I put it back in the original place where
it was?

jlloyd, Since you posted this question in the hardware forum, I assume
you can open up your computer and look inside for the lost icon.
