I have NAV 2005 on XP Pro and it assumes I want my system scanned every Friday
eventing. I can see no way to turn this off. The help shows:
================
To edit a scheduled scan

On the left side of the main window, under Norton AntiVirus, click Scan for Viruses.
In the Scan for Viruses pane, under Task, select the scan that you want to
reschedule.
If you click the button next to the scan name, the scan runs.
=================

There is no "Scan" pane.

Any ideas?

Leave it to Norton/Symantec to obscure the user interface.

Watson,

See if the Task is visible in Scheduled Tasks folder. If not, try here:

Go to Start | Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Scheduled
Tasks, and turn it off (or change it to what you want) there.

That probably will do it, but what a daffy way to go. It seems to me the
prececessors of NAV could do it within NAV. I've always found the user i/f to
Norton products a bit contrary to most ways of doing things. Thanks.

Open Nav2005 > scan for viruses > Scan my computer >
There is a small icon ("schedule")
I set mine for Monthly (1st day) then went to "select months" and chose
September.
Here in Aus, that means an auto scan may occur on the first day of spring
