hi. I'm from italy, so excuse me for my english. I've tried to repair many
computer with the same problem in a few days. During the boot of xp sp2 (home
and pro) the pc go in a continuos loop. I've change ram, mb, vga card and
power supply, and i've make a copy of hd with symantech ghost. On this new
hard disk i've tried to recovery a windows installation, but nothing. I think
is an update that cause this trouble. Windows don't start with the safe mode
and other options.
With the recovery consolle i tried with fixbot, chkdsk /r /p /f .. nothing
to do
Any suggestion?
thanx at all.

Emanuele....have you tried the simple process of hitting F8 key during bootup
and selecting "Last good configuration that worked satisfactorily".

Sounds like you're headed for a reformat and clean install if Phil's
suggestion doesn't work.
