Clearing my system of porn files
Julian

Hi,
I have downloaded some porn on my computers C drive which is where the
operating system is. It is a few small video files and some general pictures
of Soft porn material. For various reasons I want to remove that 100% from
the computer. The computer has two other partitions but they are only having
one disc, if I totally wipe the C partition then will every single trace of
any porn file totally dissapear fromt he computer? Or do I need to wipe the
entire computer?
I want to get rid of any cache of hidden URLs that I have visited so that
nobody in the entire universe can see that I surfed on any porn site. This
is very important.
Thankyou for your help in advance.

This would work only if you had separate disc partitions, this won't work
because each partition is on the same disc and there are prolly good chances
that some files get downloaded to various partitions or that some of the
windows operating system files somehow get transferred.
I would suggest do a clean sweep and repartion if you want total peice of
mind!! Goodluck

Hi,
Provided it is confined to the C:\ drive, a format and clean installation
would effectively remove it (though someone with forensic tools and the
right knowledge might be able to resurrect some vestigal traces of the
files, but that's not easily done).

and keep the other ones in tact, only it was few videos and a few pictures of
things I want to get rid of, as I don't want anybody to know I surfed for
porn :(....I wnat total elmination of any chance anybody can see any traces
of any of those sites I visited.

Just search your drive, partition for the files and delete
your favorites too. Then use the tools built into XP to
move the My Documents folder to another partition (out of
C:) my right clicking on My Documents and selecting
properties. You should see the required buttons. Also in
OE, Tools/Maintenance move the "store folder" into the My
Documents folder and your email will be safe from any format
and reinstall you might decide to do in the future.
Get a full compliment of anti-virus and spyware tools and
use them to clean your computer.
Unless the porn is of little girls and boys, nobody cares,
except your mother and or boss.
