Shut Down vs. Log Off/Switch Users

Hi,

I just reformatted my hard drive and now when I go to "start" "turn off
computer" a screen pops up asking if I want to log off or switch users. No
longer do I get the screen asking if I want to shut down or hibernate.

When I installed Windows XP Home edition I input my name when it asked so
now I think I am logged on as "Kathy." I am the only user so I don't need
specified users. Can this be why I can no longer turn off the computer and
can merely log off?

How can I change this so when I click "start" "turn off computer" I can
actually turn off the computer?

Thanks!
Kathy

Hi Kathy,

Disable Fast User Switching (FUS). Control Panel/Users/"Change the way users
log on and log off".
